The King family has operated the 100% family-owned National Design Mart for two generations. As a sign of gratitude the family created the National Gives Back program to say thank you to the families who live and shop in the communities they serve. The King family believes that family and community are the lifeblood of the country and their success for generations.
The National Gives Back program launched by raising more than $600 in support of the Akron Children’s Museum.
Next, the Caring for Kids school supply drive inspired customers to help us bring brand new school items and backpacks to benefit over 200 area foster children.
Our 2017 Halloween bash helped Project Ed Bear provide more than 1300 books for kids who receive treatment at Akron Children’s Hospital.
We beat our goal for the 2018 Easter-season Bunny Brigade. Our awesome Bunny Brigade filled, assembled and delivered 520 beautiful baskets for local families in need and children spending Easter in hospitals. Thanks to our many donors and our 75 volunteers (including 45 children) who made it possible!
During our 2018 Socktober Event, National Gives Back collected 637 pairs of socks to distribute to local shelters for men, women and children. Socks are essential for both comfort and hygiene but unfortunately, they are also among the least donated items.
